Every once in awhile I get the urge to have something a little different for dinner. Something out of the norm to shake things up a bit. Enter Chipotle Pineapple Turkey Sliders. Super simple and yummy.
The chipotle offers enough spice to tingle your taste buds, and the pineapple adds a delicious sweetness. The combination of the two is just what the doctor ordered on a warm summer night.
They are super simple to make, and you can adjust them to suit your needs. You can add more heat if your taste buds prefer. We have Littles, so I usually try to make them more kid friendly. If you love some spice add some more chipotle. Or serve with pepper jack cheese for an extra kick.
Only feeding a few people? Make them full sized turkey burgers. I usually get 4-5 out of a pound of turkey. The slider size allows me to feed more people (aka kids).
Plus, sometimes we like to grill some turkey brats, too. Making these into sliders allows us to have one of each, and eliminates being forced to choose between the two.
You can also choose between canned or fresh pineapple. My personal fave is fresh for obvious reasons, but if you don't have the time to mess with it, or they aren't in season, canned works too.
Tip: It is easier to grill fresh pineapple slices with the core still in tact. They hold together better. You can just take the core out after they are done!
